The insulation inspection
Verifying insulation is important to JR Inspections.
In the attic, basement and everywhere the insulation is visible.
Is there vermiculite in the attic? Is insulation adequate? Is there a vapour barrier installed? Is the basement well insulated? Is there any presence of mould?
Bad insulation can create condensation and frost inside structural walls and ceilings. When cold air from outside meets inside's warm air, this action can happen. It then creates rot or mould which affects the solidity of your structure and is hazardous to your health.
That's why it's important to verify if there is sufficient insulation in all areas. It also can create water leakage when that frost melts in milder temperatures. They're then visible on materials like gyproc and plaster. That aspect is closely investigated during our inspections!
